Yes! ordinary paper!, underneath the paper there is digital tablet (A4/A5/letter size) that will record directly to internal 32 MB  or SD card (optional). Each Storage device can hold record up to 999 digital pages and one digital page only takes about 400KB.  (the four AAA alkaline batteries can last approximately 80 hours.)
